Boseong Gun
Daewonsa Temple is a temple facing directly southward with the peak of Cheonbongsan Mountain slightly to the right. Although around 10 buildings have been inherited before the Korean War, all buildings were burned during the Lushun incident and only the ruins remained. But fortunately, the hall of Paradise was saved. Looking into the history of the temple, according to Joseon Temple Records with a long tradition, Chochang has been established by Adohwasang during the reign of King Jijung in the Silla Dynasty. Since then, in the Goryeo Dynasty, it was constructed by Jeose Wonoguksa of Jogye, and in the Joseon Dynasty, it was constructed in 43rd year of King Yeongjo.
The cherry blossom trail of Daewonsa Temple was formed in 1980, and has boasted beautiful scenery of the cherry blossom tunnel each spring. The cherry blossom trail stretches to Daewonsa Temple, a state-designated cultural property. Also, you can get a glimpse of Buddhism at the Tibet Museum and Daewonsa Temple.
