Bibong Dinosaur Site in Boseong is a site where countlessly many dinosaur eggs were discovered in nests of eggs in the sedimentary layer of the Cretaceous period in the Mesozoic Age. It is located at around 3km in Seonso Beach in Bibong-ri.
On the coastal rocks, around 10 dinosaur nests and around 100 dinosaur eggs can be observed. Among the nests, the largest measures 1.5m, an egg measures around 9 - 15cm and the egg shell thickness measures around 1.5mm - 2.5mm. Since no foetus or its skeletal structures were found inside the dinosaur eggs, it is predicted that the eggs became fossils after they were hatched out.
Bibong Dinosaur Site in Boseong provides evidence of the habitat of dinosaurs and an important information in discovering how dinosaurs lived. Also, due to the possibility of other dinosaur fossils and other paleontological materials buried, the site has been designated as a natural monument.
