
Beogyo has a vast area of mudflat, which is a heavenly repository of natural resources. Beolgyo cockles, grown in the mudflat of Beolgyo, are high in protein but relatively low in fat, and therefore provides rich nutrients. Also, cockles are high in calcium and iron that prevent anemia and help growth.
Granular arks in Beolgyo have 17 - 18 thick creases on the sheel surface. The creases have small granular knots from the apex, and therefore, they look thicker and clearer toward the rim. Because the ligament has black hairs and are wide apart, the apexes of the shells are approximately 5mm apart. The shell is white, the shell epidermis is grayish white and the flesh is close to red.
